The Spectrum Volleyball Club was created to provide an opportunity for aspiring volleyball players to get the training they need to help them accomplish their goals in the sport. However small or big that goal may be. We have been beginners in the sport, we have been professionals in the sport, and we can help a player go as far as they are able to go.
Spectrum was founded in 2001 by former U.S. National Team member Chris Harger after his retirement from professional indoor volleyball. Over the years Chris Harger and his coaches have established a very well respected club in the community, and the Southern California Volleyball Association. Our teams compete on a national level with other clubs throughout Southern California, the U.S., Mexico, and Puerto Rico.
The Spectrum Volleyball Club practices in the Athletic Society of Thousand Oaks. We have a beautiful, safe, clean, heated, and air conditioned facility for our players to train in. Included with the volleyball club membership is our Jump Training Class that meets twice a week in Studio 1 of the Athletic Society. This added training helps our players improve their vertical jump, agility, speed, and conditioning.
Spectrum’s coaching has contributed to the success of many of the area’s top volleyball players. The coaching staff at Spectrum is a great group of people that love to coach, and enjoy helping others find a love for the game. The playing and coaching experience of this group provides a wealth of knowledge and techniques to train athletes of all skills levels. Our combined personal experiences of playing in college, on the U.S.A. National Team, in the Division1 pro leagues of Europe, on the AVP pro beach volleyball tour, and coaching with some of the top high school programs in the area have more than qualified us to train our athletes. The training we have had from all of the great coaches that helped us get to where we have been is here, we love to share that knowledge with our players, and we commit ourselves to making every player better.
With great training comes great success. The Spectrum Volleyball Club has medaled six times at The Boys' USA Jr. National Championships. (BRONZE 2006 Boys’ 16 Club, BRONZE 2010 Boys’ 18 Club, GOLD 2011 Boys’ 18 Club, BRONZE 2013 Boys' 14 Open, GOLD 2015 Boys' 16 Open, and SILVER 2016 Boys' 17 Open) We also have a few medals for winning the SCVA Boys' Holiday Classic and Boy's Invitational.
